Dr. Jangwon Lee is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He has clinical interests in chronic disease processes such as hypertension and diabetes. Dr. Lee also has clinical interests in sleep, nutrition and exercise medicine and male/female hormonal imbalance. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. He completed his masters at Columbia University in New York, New York and attended medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Lee has extensive experience with patient evaluation, treatment and delivery of comprehensive medical care. He joins WakeMed after serving as the Officer in Charge and Medical Director of an overseas Army Medical Clinic.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Lee believes his role is to assist patients to enhance and maintain optimal health through self-discipline and education. Dr. Lee believes in practicing evidence-based medicine and feels that it is to be practiced with compassion while providing care for the whole person and maintaining necessary level of objectivity to aid in decision making. He feels that every effort will be given to practicing medicine with the best interest of each patient in mind.
In his free time, Dr. Lee enjoys gardening, reading, movies and spending time with his daughter.
