Dr. Ananta Subedi is a board-certified rheumatologist with clinical interests in vasculitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and rare auto-inflammatory diseases.

He is fellowship-trained in Rheumatology and has many publications in rheumatology journals and authored a book chapter in Pearls in Rheumatology for the Care of Older Adult Patients.

Dr. Subedi joins WakeMed most recently from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA where he served as a hospitalist and clinical instructor.

He believes listening to patients is the key to the healing process – particularly in rheumatology where diagnosis is rarely made through laboratory testing. He is focused on tailoring his treatment approach to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Subedi completed his fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital School of Medicine (an affiliate of Johns Hopkins) in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Subedi attended medical school at Kathmandu University in Nepal where he earned his medical degree in medicine and surgery.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians and is studying to earn his master’s degree in public health. In his free time, Dr. Subedi enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering to provide Rheumatology care back in Nepal where he is from.
