Dr. McLawhorn is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). Practicing since 2002, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, after earning her medical degree from The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
McLawhorn received her bachelor of science in health and sports medicine from Wake Forest University. Her clinical interests include routine and high-risk obstetrics, family planning and contraception, infertility, abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroid management, minimally invasive surgery and in office procedures such as hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation.

Before scheduling an appointment with either a WakeMed employed provider or a community-based affiliated physician, we encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify that the location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co-insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility.
