Dr. Rodney Horton earned his medical degree from the University of Texas (UT) - Southwestern Medical School in Dallas after completing his bachelor's degree at Houston Baptist University in Houston. He completed both his internship and residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern, and then went on to complete a fellowship in cardiology/electrophysiology at UT Southwestern as well.
After serving as an assistant professor of internal medicine, Division of Cardiology, at UT Southwestern and the director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory for the VA Medical Center in Dallas, Dr. Horton joined Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia, where he has spent almost 10 years. He is the published co-author of multiple clinical studies and abstracts concerning treatments for atrial fibrillation, including catheter ablation, as well as the effects and patterns of this illness, among other topics.
Dr. Horton is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and has achieved diplomate status from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in the areas of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
