    24/7 Full-Service Emergency Department

    In the event of a true medical emergency do not drive yourself, call 911 immediately.

    WakeMed Apex Healthplex features a 24/7 full-service emergency department backed by Cary Hospital, WakeMed Children's, Wake County's only Level 1 Trauma Center and staffed by board-certified physicians who are trained to handle both adult and pediatric emergencies.

     

    The Apex Healthplex Emergency Department includes:

    • 12 private treatment rooms, including four dedicated rooms just for kids
    • Two private rooms for patient triage
    • Imaging equipment, including x-ray, CT scan, Open Bore MRI and ultrasound
    • An ambulance receiving area
    • Patient reception and waiting rooms

    The main entrance is at the front of the building facing Healthplex Way. Surface parking is available next to the building, and patients may be dropped off or picked up under the covered entry via the circular drive.

    Directions:

    • From I-440, continue on US-1 S.
    • You will see signs for Asheboro/Sanford.
    • Take exit 95 for Highway 55 toward Holly Springs.
    • Turn right onto NC-55/E Williams Street. Travel 2.1 miles.
    • Turn left onto Apex Peakway (across from Apex Market Square shopping center).
    • WakeMed Apex Healthplex is on the corner of Apex Peakway and Zeno Road.

    *WakeMed Apex Healthplex is operated by WakeMed Cary Hospital.

  • The Emergency Department staff treats walk-in patients and patients who are brought in through local EMS by ambulance.  An on-site helipad is a landing site for transport of patients who need to be air lifted to another facility.
