WakeMed Rehab Hospital's dedicated Spinal Cord Injury Unit is a part of the 98-bed WakeMed Rehabilitation Hospital on the Raleigh Campus. There are 26 beds in the WakeMed Spinal Cord Injury Unit. All the patient rooms are private as a special measure to enhance treatment and support the healing process.

WakeMed's focus on patient and family centered care is evident in patient rooms, where fold-out couches for sleep and work are available. Our patient and family centered care focus is also evident in Spinal Cord Injury Unit nurses, therapists, case managers and support staff, who are committed to the specialized care patients with spinal cord injuries need. WakeMed even has a facility dog, Stash, a fully trained service dog who helps patients with many types of therapies.

Fitness/therapy equipment is housed on the same floor as patient rooms. An area for patients and families to eat meals and use their computers is located close to the fitness room.
