Like most U.S. hospitals, we use a standardized tool called Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey (HCAHPS) to measure aspects of the care experience and identify areas for improvement. HCAHPS (pronounced "H-caps") is a standardized, random-sample telephone survey tool measuring patients' ratings of their hospital experience.
All results are publicly reported on the U.S. Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services' Hospital Compare web site where other hospital results can be found as well. HCAHPS allows hospitals to publicly report and compare their results with more than 3,700 hospitals locally, regionally and nationally.
Data is based on 341 random survey results as reported to the U.S. Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Data was compiled by CMS approved vendor Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC) betweenJanuary 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014 and is the most recent data publicly available.
