Children's

No child should ever have to go to the hospital.  But when they do, they shouldn't have to wait to get the medical care they need.

WakeMed is building a new Children's Hospital - the first one in Wake County - where children can receive the medical care they need, as soon as they need it.

For decades, parents and pediatricians have trusted WakeMed to care for our children.  We serve more than 143,000 children per year, making WakeMed one of the most popular hospitals for children in North Carolina.

But Wake County is growing.  Fast.  And the demand for children's health care is growing, too.  That means that children sometimes have to wait for months to see a pediatric specialist.

That's why people in Wake County and surrounding communities are coming together - to help raise money for a new Children's Hospital that will meet the needs of our growing community.

A new 34,000 square foot Children's Hospital will allow WakeMed to offer more hospital beds, more specialists and more advanced care for critically ill children.  And that means our children won't have to wait to get the care they need.
