Goals of the Clinic

  • Diagnose concussions
  • Provide follow-up care of concussion patients
  • Determine when it is safe for athletes to return to play (As mandated by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association)

Criteria for Admission

  • Recent sports-related head trauma (within 2 weeks)
  • Age 10 to 17 years old
  • Purpose is to assess patient to determine return to play

Under the leadership of a Pediatric Neurologist, our team includes:

  • Occupational therapists
  • Physical therapists
  • Speech language pathologists

Services

History and neurological exam

Neurocognitive and functional assessments including:

  • Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT Testing)
  • Balance testing
