Keeping Them Safe

This new class focuses on toddler, preschooler and family injury prevention. You will learn safety tips and gain good, sound advice to empower you to recognize and avoid potential injuries common to children and adults in and around the home. Learn how to spot dangers before they occur. First Aid Certification is given upon successful completion of the course. Cost is $30 per person.

Grandbabies Class

This class is meant to help new and expectant grandparents learn ways they can help and support new parents in the first few weeks after a grandchild is born. It includes information about safety around the home, activities for and games to play with children and fun communication tools. As a bonus, this class will cover how to successfully perform CPR on infants and how to help an infant who is choking. The cost is $15 per person.

CPR: Infant, Child & Adult

In this three-hour course taught by certified CPR instructors, parents, grandparents and babysitters will learn basic skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and obstructed airway management for infants, young children and adults. Participants will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver® Certification. The cost is $45 per person.

An Asthma Fair

Saturday, May 6, 2017 | 9 am - 12:30 pm (FREE Event)

WakeMed Health & Hospitals | Andrews Center | 3024 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC

In celebration of World Asthma Day and Asthma Awareness Month, the Triangle Asthma Coalition presents 'An Asthma Fair', taking place at the WakeMed Raleigh Campus in the Andrews Center on May 6th. 

Educational sessions will take place from 10 am to Noon (provided in both English and Spanish) and will cover a range of topics including: 

  • General pediatric asthma
  • Asthma and sports
  • Asthma and allergies

There will also be fun games for kids and prize drawings as well as an opportunity to bring questions and medications for an on-site pharmacist to review.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. A limited number of bus tickets are available upon request.

Kids will enjoy activities such as: a bike rodeo, helmet fittings, tours of emergency vehicles, and more. Also learn about the following risk areas by participating in our interactive games and displays:

  • Distracted driving
  • Gun safety
  • Fire safety
