As a cardiologist, Dr. Sahar Amery has a range of clinical interests that include non-invasive cardiology, general cardiology, heart failure, women and heart disease, prevention and diagnostics including nuclear studies, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiogram and stress testing. She first became interested in the field of medicine at a young age. Not only did she have family members who suffered from cardiac conditions, but several adults in her family worked in the medical field. Additionally, she had a passion for helping people and making them feel better.
After completing her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Amery joined WakeMed. She was particularly drawn to this organization for its commitment to the patient.
“At WakeMed, we have the utmost respect for our patients and their care. We do things in a more conservative way, meaning we always do what is best for each of our patients,” said Dr. Amery. “We also encourage family involvement and patient education so that certain conditions and/or symptoms can be prevented in the future.”
Fluent in English, Farsi and Spanish, Dr. Amery enjoys reading and traveling in her spare time.
