Day Surgery at WakeMed Cary Hospital
We know how comforting it is for our younger patients to have loved ones near by. Parents of pediatric patients are welcomed to remain with their children up to the time of surgery.
Following surgery, one parent will be escorted to the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) once the child begins to wake-up. To comfort the child it is recommended to bring a favorite blanket or small stuffed animal/toy. This item will remain with child throughout the surgical experience.
For all children, it is suggested to bring a clean pair of underwear and/or additional diapers.
