Day Surgery at WakeMed Cary Hospital
Payment for services will be arranged at Patient Registration. If you have questions about payment, please call the Business Office at 919-350-4800, between 8am-4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be asked for a deposit.
As a courtesy, we will file your health insurance for you, so please bring your insurance card(s) with you on the day of surgery. The patient/guarantor is responsible for the hospital bill and is expected to make payment arrangements if the hospital bill is not paid by the insurance carrier within 45 days.
You may request an estimate of your hospital bill by calling 919-350-0841, at least three business days prior to your surgery, between 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
You will be asked to provide:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Type of surgical procedure
- Date and length of time scheduled
- Surgeon's name
We will call you back with an estimate for your hospital bill, but please be aware that this is only an estimate. Your actual bill will be determined by the services your physician orders for you. After surgery, questions about your bill should be directed to Claims & Billing at 919-350-8359.
If your name has changed, please bring a picture ID for verification.
Remember to contact your insurance company prior to surgery to determine if pre-certification or a second opinion is required.
You will be billed separately for services performed by the anesthesiologist, surgeon, pathologist and radiologist.
