Healthworks Fitness & Wellness Center – Personal Training and Personal Training Plus

Personal Training is an individualized, one-on-one exercise program provided by a certified exercise professional who works with you to help you reach your goals.

Personal Training Plus is a one-on-one exercise program provided by a certified exercise professional for individuals with medical conditions limiting participation in any group setting and/or individuals who need hands-on assistance for transfers.

Hope Choplin is a graduate of East Carolina University, receiving both her undergraduate and Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. She holds both the Exercise Physiologist and Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine. Hope specializes in diseased populations, especially individuals with heart disease, diabetes, or post-stroke; however, she enjoys training a variety of individuals and fitness levels.

Hope Choplin - Trainer

Laurie Smith obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology at East Carolina University with a minor in Nutrition Science. She currently works as a SMART certified personal trainer and enjoys working with a variety of fitness levels. Laurie’s goal is to improve one’s health through providing the necessary educational, motivational and enjoyable experiences so that individuals can become as independent as possible inside and outside of the gym. After experiencing a personal journey with weight loss while increasing her health and confidence, Laurie has dedicated her practice to enhancing the lives of others so that they may experience a successful journey of their own.

Laurie Smith - Trainer

Hailee Wingfield earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sports Science at Meredith College, with a focus in Health and Wellness and a minor in Psychology. She then went on to obtain her Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hailee is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist, an ISSN Certified Sports Nutritionist, and an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor and Health Coach. Hailee enjoys working with various populations, helping each achieve their health and wellness goals, and especially loves to empower women through strength training.
