Expanding to fit your needs
New Patient Tower: Currently under construction is a new, state-of-the-art Patient Tower. Scheduled to open early 2010, this 168,000 square-foot, four-story addition will include 82 medical/surgical and rehab care beds, 20 intensive care unit beds and support services. Home to the new main entrance and lobby, the new facility will connect to the existing hospital by way of the A and C wings and the WakeMed Heart Center for easy navigation through the Raleigh Campus.
New Parking Deck: A new 1,200 space parking deck will also be constructed to connect directly to the new Patient Tower. A connecting bridge from the parking deck to the new main lobby will make it safe and easy for patients and visitors to enter the hospital.
A multi-service facility with 515 acute beds and a 24-hour adult emergency department that treats more than 142,000 patients each year, WakeMed Raleigh Campus is also home to North Carolina's only 24-hour freestanding Children's Emergency Department, which serves over 40,000 children each year.
