Highest Level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Wake County
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit offers the highest level of care available for premature and critically ill babies in Wake County, and we are home to one of only 11 Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) Training Centers in the United States (21 worldwide).

The WakeMed Mothers' Milk Bank is one of only 11 milk banks in the United States, and it distributes more than 150,000 ounces of milk each year.


Coming Soon! Wake County's First Women's Hospital
In May 2015, WakeMed will open the first hospital dedicated to women in Wake County, WakeMed North Hospital. The hospital, which is being built on the campus of WakeMed North Healthplex, will include new and expanded services, such as a new childbirth unit and expanded medical imaging services for women.
