Premature babies need all the help they can get, and experts say many depend on donated breast milk. The WakeMed Mothers’ Milk Bank is looking for donors to provide this potentially lifesaving gift, and we invite you to join us as on Sunday, May 19 as we celebrate World Breastmilk Donation Day.

If you’re a breastfeeding mom, we invite new and current donors to attend. We’ll have crafts, games, firetrucks, raffle items, vendors, Safe Kids will be onsite with their “hot car” demonstration and more. Plus, most importantly, we will be offering on-site screenings for new donors! No pre-registration will be required.

🍼 After pumping, refrigerate your milk within 1 hour and then freeze your milk within 24 hours.  Our WakeMed Mothers' Milk Bank suggests that you freeze it immediately if you know you want to store or donate your milk or refrigerate if you feel you may need it to feed your baby.
